Laughter Returns to Aylesbury Town

The AW Comedy Club returns to Aylesbury next Friday(06/04) with an intriguing line-up of japes and gaffores.

Mock the Week star Zoe Lyons’ tops the bill with an act which last year apparently renewed an Australian critic’s “faith in stand-up comedy”.  In 2008 at the Edinburgh Festival she won Dave’s ‘Joke at the Fringe’ (‘Dave’ the digital TV channel that is, not some bloke) and she has also appeared on Michael McIntyre’s fabled Comedy Roadshow.

On stage before Zoe is South East London funnyman Rob Beckett, surely sporting the teethiest smile in comedy.  His show has been described as “fast, innovative, and polished” and it has earned him support slots for the likes of Stephen K Amos and Russell Kane.

Kicking things off is Dave Johns, a stand-up veteran of over 20 years who has worked across the world as far a field as China and theArctic Circle (honestly).  His television appearances have included ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and ‘8 Out of Ten Cats’ and curiously he has also adapted the Shawshank Redemption into a successful stage production.

Tickets are £10 and can be purchased via  doors at 8pm
