SubSiren returns to the White Swan in Aylesbury this evening (28/04) for a night of subversive music.
Headlining is Oxford post-rockers Listing Ships who are performing as part of their ‘100 Gun Ship Tour’
“The sort of almighty ruckus that could easily be marketed as a chest rattling expectorant” – Nightshift Magazine
“A nod to the jarring rhythms of legendary Louisville bands such as Slint and Rodan before easing into the expansive, airy sound of Tortoise and stretching out to the horizon” – MusicinOxford.co.uk
Also on the bill are Aylesbury’s electro rockers 1877. They are gearing up for the release of their new single ‘Videophobia’ and will be giving away copies on the night.
“Any song that intones “No Future”, Dave Gahan-style, over the click and spank of a computerised industrial beat has got my attention”
– Nightshift Magazine
“You’d say krautrock, but even the Germans haven’t mastered this kind of sonic cruelty”
Opening the night is fellow Oxon’s Tiger Mendoza, a pseudonym for electronic producer Ian De Quadros. He has expanded his dance-orientated sound into a more experimental rock experience for his live shows and was lucky enough to support DJ Shadow in Oxford last year.
Also on the bill are Home Taping is Killing Music DJ’s and our host for the evening will be Barry Wocks of online reality show ‘The Only Made in Aylesbury’
